President Bola Tinubu has finally given in to the growing calls to reshuffle his cabinet, and in a dramatic move, he sacked five ministers on Wednesday. The ministers who lost their jobs are Uju-Ken Ohanenye, former Minister of Women Affairs; Lola Ade-John, former Minister of Tourism; Tahir Mamman, former Minister of Education; Abdullahi Gwarzo, former Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development; and Jamila Ibrahim, former Minister of Youth Development.

But that’s not all – President Tinubu also reassigned 10 ministers to new portfolios, likely in a bid to streamline and bolster the effectiveness of his administration. And in a move to bring in fresh faces, he appointed seven new ministers, who will now face Senate confirmation.

Additionally, the Presidency announced two key appointments: Shehu Dikko as Chairman of the National Sports Commission and Sunday Akin Dare as Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation, working from the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

This cabinet shake-up is seen as a significant development in President Tinubu’s efforts to reinvigorate his administration and respond to the growing demands for change.
