A devastating building collapse occurred in Nomansland, Fagge Local Government Area of Kano, resulting in the loss of two lives. The incident happened around 2am on Thursday during a heavy downpour, which caused the two-storey building to crumble.
According to reports, the building’s proximity to a waterway and the overflow of water contributed to the collapse. Rescue efforts are ongoing, with two persons rescued alive and taken to the hospital, while two others have been confirmed dead.
This tragic incident comes on the heels of a warning from the Kano State Emergency Management Agency, which reported on Wednesday that flooding in the state had already claimed 31 lives and destroyed 5,280 houses.
