Breaking: unknown gunmen storm palace, kidnap Ekiti monarch

A monarch in Ekiti State, Oba David Oyewumi, the Obadu of Ilemeso-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

FirstNews gathered that he was abducted in his palace on Thursday after the unknown gunmen scaled the fence of his compound and shot sporadically into the air before whisking him away.

Police Public Relation Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, Mr Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the development said “it happened yesterday in his palace”.

The PPRO said that police are making necessary efforts to rescue the kidnapped monarch and to arrest the culprits.

It was further learnt that his abductors were yet to contact his family members.

Recall that barely a week ago, the Elewu of Ewu, in Ilemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Adetutu Ajayi, escaped abduction by kidnappers who laid an ambush against him.
