Sunday Ibrahim Maina, aged 45 years died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Monday July 8th 2019 in Jos, Plateau State after a brief illness.
Sunday was born on the 15th December 1974 into the family of late Mr. Ibrahim Maina and Mrs. Esther Ibrahim Maina in Numan, of the then Gongola State presently Adamawa State.
He started his education at Yerwa Practicing Primary School in Maiduguri, Borno State from 1980 to 1986, he then got admission into Government Secondary School Beneshiek from 1987 to 1992.
Sunday proceeded to University of Maiduguri in 1993 where he got admission to study Diploma in Social Work from 1994 to 1996. In 1997, Sunday went back to University of Maiduguri for a degree program in Sociology and graduated with a B Sc. In Sociology in the year 2002.
Sunday Ibrahim Maina served as the Personal Assistant to the Late Homun Asaph Zadok Hama Bachama from 2004 to 2012.
He also served as the Personal Assistant to the Deputy Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Lumsambani Mijah Dilli from 2015 till his death.
Sunday was happily married to Lovina Sunday Maina his life partner for over 12 years at the time of his death.
Until his death, Mr. Sunday Ibrahim Maina is survived by his wife Mrs. Lovina Sunday Maina and four great kids. (Zarah, Sharon, Salma and Scott).
He also left behind his aged mother Mrs. Esther Ibrahim Maina and seven (7) siblings.
Apart from spending time with his family and friends, Sunday had a passion for traveling, sporting events (Football Man-U fan) and caring for people around him. Sunday has a bright and energetic personality and he was known for his ability to sense when people need his help, care or support.
He has touched many people with his generosity, selflessness, and passion for life. Indeed, he was a peaceful gentle giant who’s memory will forever be in our hearts.
May his gentle soul rest in peace, Amen!

Your demise came as a surprise and a hard blow to our heart. But as a believers, we believe God always a reason for doing things, but as expected it to be this soon.
We related not as staff but as soon and brother whom my bosom friend (your former Boss) Late Hama Bachama HRH Asaph Zadok entrusted to me. You’re an acumen of honesty and hard work, trusted, dedicated, loyal and reliable gem.
I’ll continue to miss you, however your memories will forever be indelible in my heart till we meet at the bosom of the Lord.
