Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Wednesday received on a courtesy call the Former Head of State General Yakubu Gowon who led Leadership of the Bible Society of Nigeria BSN to the Council Chamber of the Government House, Yola.
Speaking during the visit, General Yakubu Gowon who is the Patron of the BSN said their visit to Yola was to convene the 2019 Board meeting of the society in Adamawa State
General Gowon thanked the State Government and people of Adamawa for the warm reception accorded them upon arrival into the state and congratulated the new political leaders in the state for assumption of duty after their victory at the just concluded polls.
Contributing, the National President of the Society Doctor Aron Nuhu explained that the society rotate its National Board Meeting across the six Geopolitical zones of the country every year.
Doctor Nuhu congratulated the Governor and his Deputy for their victory at the polls and subsequent inauguration into office and prayed to God to guide them in the onerous task.
Responding, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri saluted the BSN leaders for the courtesy call which he described as overwhelming and worthwhile to the people and government of Adamawa.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Chief Crowther Seth expressed his happiness to receive General Yakubu Gowon whom he said has fought hard for the unity of Nigeria.
He said the present administration appreciated the BSN leaders for their unflinching prayers to the government and urged them to maintain the posture for the development of the country.
He prayed for a successful deliberations of the BSN Board Meeting in Adamawa.
