Mahmud Sadis Buba, popularly known as Al-ajabin Zazzau, has withdrawn from the contest for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to represent Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

In a formal letter addressed to the Kaduna State Chairman of the APC and published on his verified Facebook page on Saturday, May 16, 2026, Buba announced his immediate withdrawal from the race.
“This was not an easy decision,” the letter read in part. “But it was hastened by the reconciliation efforts initiated by stakeholders and leaders of our party.”
Buba said after wide consultations with his family, political associates, and party stakeholders, he concluded that stepping aside was in the best interest of the APC. He stressed the need for the party to unite behind a single candidate to ensure victory in the general election.
He expressed gratitude to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, and the leadership of the APC for the opportunity to participate in the nomination process. Buba reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and pledged to work for the success of the eventual APC candidate.
The aspirant, who was at the centre of an age controversy during the race, urged his supporters to remain calm and fully support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.
No immediate reaction has been received from the APC leadership as of the time of this report.
