In the spirit of assisting the most vulnerable people as Eid-elfitr celebration approaches, some associates and supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari under the aegis of “Baba for all” have donated 7,200 bags of 25kg of rice to Adamawa Muslims.
National chairman of Baba for all, Hon Aminu Sani Jaji, noted that the gesture is made exclusively to assist fasting Muslims, adding that Christians would also get similar support during the Yuletide period.
He noted that considering the precarious economic situation in the country which necessitate the need to support the most vulnerable members of the society including orphans, destitute and people living with disability among others, members of the group dip their hands into their purse to mobilize funds for the project.
Jaji noted that the package which consist of 7,200 bags of 25kg of rice will go a long way in helping the most vulnerable people across the 21 LGs of the state.
He thanked the people of Adamawa for the warm reception accorded his group and urged the stakeholders to ensure equitable distribution of the package for optimal impact.
He noted that in its strides to ensure that the less privileged are carried along, the group will continue to consider other vital areas in order to alleviate the suffering of the masses.
Jaji called on the beneficiaries to pray for peace in the country noting that no meaningful development can be achieved in the absence of peace.
Also speaking, the caretaker chairman of All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State, Ibrahim Bilal, thanked Baba for all for coming to the aide of the less privileged in the state.
He commended them for distributing the items through a committee led by senator Aishatu Binani noting that with such a notable personality in tow, he is upbeat that no one will be shortchanged.
He also lauded the wisdom of the group for sharing the items through a committee adding that similar gesture made otherwise did not yield the desired result in the state.
Bilal restated that the donation is not meant for only APC members but for all Muslim communities across the state urging for equitable distribution to those that need the intervention most.
Also commenting on behalf of elders of the party, a notable stakeholder, P. P Elisha, noted that the Baba for all has done the right thing by giving the items through a committee consisting of only party stakeholders.
He noted that similar such gesture made through the government in the past, did not yield the desired result.
While commending the Baba for all for the kind intervention, the chairman of Adamawa State distribution committee, senator Aishatu Ahmed Binani who is the incumbent senator representing Adamawa central, noted that the gesture could not have come at a better time.
She urged for fair and equitable distribution of the palliatives noting that anyone caught shortchanging the masses will have himself to blame.
She noted that the distribution will be done to the various parts of the state in categories calling on the people to ensure equitable distribution and report any subversion to the secretariat for proper action to be taken.
