Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his satisfaction with the resounding success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the recent governorship election in Ondo State, which saw Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa reclaim his position with a decisive victory.
In his response to the election results, the former President noted that the electorate has conveyed a clear and emphatic message of confidence in both the APC and Governor Aiyedatiwa. He emphasized that their collective voice, articulated through the ballot box, deserves respect from all stakeholders involved in the democratic process.
President Buhari highlighted that the election’s outcome affirms the resilience of Nigeria’s democracy, demonstrating its strength amidst the nation’s vast diversity. He urged the Governor-elect to rise to the occasion by implementing policies aimed at stimulating economic growth, addressing the challenges of high unemployment and inflation, and advancing initiatives that enhance the welfare of the citizens.

Furthermore, he commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and law enforcement agencies for their diligent efforts in addressing issues identified in previous elections, contributing to the improved conduct of the polls in Ondo State.
The former President wishes Governor Aiyedatiwa and his team a fruitful and impactful tenure as they work towards meeting the needs and aspirations of the people of Ondo State.
