Buhari has shown he’s a Fulani president —Ortom

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Tuesday said the disposition of President Muhammadu Buhari has shown him as a Fulani president instead of the president for the whole nation.

Ortom spoke while lamenting continuous killings in the state by suspected herdsmen.

Suspected herdsmen had on Tuesday attacked Abegana village, which houses one of the eight designated Internally Displaced Persons’ camps in the state and killed several people.

The governor, while speaking at the scene of the incident, said that 70 people had been killed in Makurdi, Guma and Gwer West local government areas.

He lamented that the attack on Abegana IDP camp should make the President, to convey security summit to discuss insecurity in the country.

Ortom said, “We are being overstretched and the people are fed up. We all cast our votes for President Buhari. He must not continue to be aloof. He must tell us where we are going in this country. The body language of the President shows that he is the President of the Fulani people.”

Sources have said the attack on Abegana IDP camp was carried out by herdsmen.

It was gathered that the suspects attacked the village in the early hours of Tuesday and killed several people.
