Candidates travels for over 200 Kms to write JAMB exam in Adamawa….Coordinator

Mr Danladi Aliyu, Adamawa Zonal Coordinator of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB ) said that many candidates from Adamawa Northern Senatorial zone travels for over 200 kilometres before reaching JAMB examination center to write the exam.

Aliyu said that the development affects mostly candidates from Madagali , Michika Maiha and some parts of Mubi North and Mubi south local government areas.

He disclosed that if necessary action was not taken , thousands of eligible candidates from the zone would be denied to write the examination because of lack of adequate centres.

” The Board has only one registration center in Adamawa Northern zone. which is situated at Federal Polytechnic, Mubi.

” The centre has the capacity of two hundred and fifty computer sets and during the last examination , about four thousand candidates from Seven Local Government Areas of the zone applied for the examination” Aliyu said.

He explained that some of the candidates had to travel for over 200 kilometres from their respective areas to Yola to write the examination.

He noted that many candidates from Madagali and Michika local government areas are worse affected .

According to the coordinator, there is need for the state government to collaborate with the board to address the situation.

” Adamawa State University Mubi has internet facilities what state government should do is to supply more computer sets”
