Central Senatorial: Adamawa Speaker to appeal High Court ruling by Justice Anka

Adamawa State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. AmAminuya Abbas, as rejected the judgment of the Federal High Court which voided his senatorial ticket for the Central Senatorial District.

The Speaker who rejected the verdict of the Federal High Yola has since commenced the legal process to contest the judgment of the Court of Appeal Yola Division.

He is appealing the lower court’s decision for the appeal court to set aside the judgment and restore his ticket to enable him to participate in the 2023 general election.

Already, Counsel to Speaker, Tersoo Hyacinth Shabo, has since asked the trial court based on the instruction of his client to furnish him with the Judgment to start the compilation of the cord of appeal for onward transmission to the Court of Appeal.

You would recall that the Federal High Court presided by Justice A. M. Anka, annulled the primary election of the Peoples’ Democratic Party which saw the Speaker emerging as its winner.

Aside from the nullification of the exercise, the court barred the party from fielding a candidate for the district in th23, general election since the entire exercise was voided according to the judgment of the court.
