…asks Tinubu to revoke contract and award to a more qualify, competent company
A group under the umbrella of Taraba community watchers (TCW) issued a press statement drawing the attention of Federal Ministry of Water resources and Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority (UBRBDA) and faulted Havage Engineering Services Ltd for not meeting up the terms and conditions of a contract awarded to them.
The statement signed by the Group’s Secretary, Mr Daniel Asoaga said Havage Engineering Services Ltd has failed woefully to finish the Construction of Chanchagi Dam in Takum Local Government area of Taraba which was awarded in 10th November 2020.
The group whose aims and objectives is to monitor government awarded projects in Taraba State said the Dam construction is to solve the perennial water problems in Takum LGA and many communities in Southern Taraba but got unnecessary delay by the company.
The group revealed that the cost of construction awarded to the company is over N489m to boost the economy activities of the state but has suffered set back by non completion by the company which assured the clients of a perfection.
They called on Governor Kefas Agbu to report the matter to Federal Ministry of resources and Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority in Yola to revoke contract and reward it to a more reliable, competent and professional Dam construction company.
According to them, they however learnt that the company is facing a lot of Court litigations and were dragged to Many courts across the country over the services they are rendering to prospective clients.
They warned individuals, private organizations and government agencies to be wary of the company because they lack capacity to handle many projects.
“The were awarded to construct this Dam since 2020 because our people are facing a serious acute water problems, for over four years now they have not done more half of the Job and no one is seeing their presence any longer.” The statement read
They begged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through the ministry of Water resources to revoke contract and reward it to a more reliable, competent Dam construction company.
