A powerful message of love, peace, and unity reverberated throughout Numan, Adamawa State, as the AB Haske Foundation hosted a colourful Christmas concert that brought Christians from various churches together to celebrate the season.
The concert, which included food distribution to Christian families, drew a large crowd and created a festive atmosphere infused with songs, prayers, and thanksgiving.
Miss Rejoice Ishaku, chief organiser and Personal Assistant to Hon. Abdularahman Bashir Haske, said the concert aimed to strengthen Christian unity and promote peaceful coexistence in Adamawa State.
She explained that Hon. Haske, a candidate for governor in 2026 and founder of the AB Haske Foundation, inspired the initiative.
“The Christmas concert is an idea developed by His Excellency Abdularahman Bashir Haske and sponsored by the AB Haske Foundation, with the sole purpose of building unity and peaceful coexistence among Christians and the people of Adamawa State,” she said.
Miss Ishaku stated that the foundation has continued to assist disaster victims and vulnerable people throughout the state, and that the Christmas programme exemplifies the organisation’s dedication to compassion and social support. She also encouraged Nigerian youths to participate in politics and help shape the country’s future.
Religious leaders at the gathering commended the foundation for promoting love and unity within the Christian community.
Those who spoke included Pastor Blings Hosea Kosomso of Evergreen Church in Yola and Rev. Yakisim Zuke of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN – Majami’ar Ubangiji). They applauded the gesture, saying the food support brought relief to struggling families.
Rev. Zuke added:
“I urge every personality and foundation that has the capacity to bring people together to think as the Haske Foundation thinks. One cannot lead without uniting the people.”
The event featured powerful choir renditions, gospel performances, and carols by youth groups and church choirs, creating an upbeat worship atmosphere.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were:
- Bishop Bulus Elam Taiya — Shalom Christian Centre, Numan
- Bishop Rhema Bitrus — Shelter of Hope (Abundant Life Church)
- Bishop Emmanuel Augustine — Christian Word Centre
- Rev. Yusuf Usman — Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria
- Rev. Anthony Ngbale — Anglican Church
Others included several church elders and clergy from across the state.
Residents described the event as a welcome moment of fellowship during a period of economic hardship, saying the foundation’s gesture restored hope and strengthened the spirit of Christmas.
Beneficiaries who received food items thanked Hon. Haske and the foundation for remembering ordinary families, saying the support would help them celebrate the season with dignity.
According to observers, the concert reinforced calls for Christian unity while also emphasising the critical role faith-based organisations play in promoting social peace.
Organisers have hinted that the concert could become an annual event to promote love and unity in Adamawa state.
As the festivities came to a close, the sounds of music, laughter, and warm embraces lingered in the air, reflecting the true meaning of Christmas.
