A letter was written by concerned citizens of Numan, Demsa, and Lamurde local governments and addressed to the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, His Excellency, Crowther Seth, Nze-Anzo Bachama, calling his attention to save Numan Motel from the arbitrary sale of land within its vicinity.
The citizens in the letter signed by Ethan Simon on behalf of eighty (80) other persons that the Honourable commissioner of culture and Tourism, Hon Adamu Titus is adamant in his decision of selling all the land in the Motel’s vicinity, as efforts to stop him only got a counter reply that ” Nobody can stop him from what he is set to do.”
The letter is read accusing Adamu of selling the frontage of the motel to sixty-three persons at cost of fifty thousand naira (N50,000) each without receipt or approval from the state government.
“We write and call on you to save Numan Motel from the Hon. Commissioner who now become la and spectator. When we approach him why is he selling the land? He answered that even the deputy Governor cannot stop him from what he is doing, that even the present Deputy Governor ones approached him, and that is not a threat to him.
” Sir, please save Numan Motel, we wish to invite you to visit the place and see the activities that the commissioner ministry of culture and Tourism is doing. The frontage of the motel had been converted into shops, so far he had sold or allocated a portion of land to sixty-three people at N50,000 each.
“His P. A auction properties of Numan Motel and the entire fence to auctioneers, the motel rooms are located to hoodlums.
” The action of the honorable commissioner deprives lots of investors of investing in Numan Motel.
“We are calling on you to as a matter of urgency to stop the activities of the honorable commissioner and revoke all allocations.” The letter read
In their letter, they vowed to reveal more facts of how the commissioner’s shoddy deals regarding the motel and other properties of the government are being diverted.
Adamu when contacted by our correspondent said his accusers just framed-up lies to score a political cheap point and get undeserved relevance.
“They are just lying, who am I to sell government land for no just course and directives? Ignore them please they are just framing-up and speculating issues.” Adamu said
