Communal Clash in Osun State: 4 Feared Dead, 7 Policemen Injured

A land dispute between Esa Oke and Ido Ijesha communities in Osun State has escalated into a violent clash, leaving four people feared dead and seven policemen injured. The crisis began as a result of a long-standing land dispute between the two communities, with residents caught in the middle of the conflict.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State, Opalola Yemisi, seven police officers were injured while trying to maintain peace in the area. The officers were ambushed by thugs, and two of the attackers were arrested. The injured policemen have been treated at a hospital, and the police are still searching for the other perpetrators.

The police have assured that they are working to restore peace and order in the area, and those responsible for the attack will be charged accordingly. The incident has raised concerns about the ongoing land disputes in the region and the need for urgent attention to prevent further violence.
