Comr Mustapha Salihu Celebrates Kumu Gombi on First Anniversary as Traditional Ruler

The Northeast National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Mustapha Salihu, PhD, has extended warm congratulations to His Royal Highness, Chief Aggrey Bechour Ali, the Kumu Gombi, as he marks one year on the throne of the Gombi Chiefdom in Adamawa State.

The revered monarch ascended the throne on February 8, 2025, and has since steered the chiefdom with remarkable wisdom, restraint, and strong communal leadership.

In a statement issued to journalists in Yola on Sunday, Salihu described the milestone as a significant landmark that underscores the resilience of the traditional institution and its vital role in fostering peaceful coexistence and social harmony at the grassroots level.

The APC frontline gubernatorial aspirant praised the Kumu Gombi for providing moral guidance, promoting dialogue among communities, and upholding the rich cultural values that unite the people of Gombi.

Salihu highlighted the monarch’s consistent engagement with community leaders and stakeholders, which has fostered relative peace and mutual understanding throughout the chiefdom.

He also commended the unwavering support of elders and council members, noting that their cooperation has strengthened the palace and enhanced the effectiveness of traditional governance in the area.

Salihu prayed for the Kumu Gombi to enjoy long life, good health, and divine guidance, expressing confidence that his reign will continue to deepen unity and drive development across the chiefdom.

“The throne of Gombi remains a powerful rallying point for peace and collective progress, and the people expect this legacy to endure in the years ahead,” Salihu declared.
