Kwatri Gaggo James, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Michika 2 ward Youth leader of Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa state accused one Mr. Mannassah Nggi, ward councillor of Michika 2 to have attempted running away with forms meant for the ward excos.
Khatri in an interview with TG NEWS revealed that Ngugi took all the forms and headed to Yola to give Steven Maduwa, a PDP party stakeholder in Michika to whom he pays allegiance and holds unreserved loyalty.
According to him, his decision is contrary to what Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said every party executive should have another term continuity except officials who cases of anti-party or leave the party for one reason or the other or even dead should be automatically replaced.
The PDP Youth leader worried that the councilor after the agreement was reached a form will be given to every official tomorrow, but only to zoomed off to Yola with the forms until many of the excos mobilized themselves and caught up with him in Uba where they retrieved all the forms.
“Being our councilor he told us we can’t do the meeting today for everyone to have his or her form until tomorrow, the next step that this man will take is to hire a car to Yola in other to give Steven Maduwa all the forms to do whatever he wants to do to suit his interest.
” He wanted to take the forms to his political God Father to do whatever they want to do against the instruction of Governor Fintiri who ordered that all excos should remain in office. This is not what I think we can agree to, we worked for the party in Victory in 2019, is it now that we are not important and he (Steven) wants to throw away?
“What I understand is that our party wants to do is to amicable resolve all issues before the very time of our congress where only those with anti-party problems will be not be returned as officials, or those that are dead be replaced and even those that leave the party their position be filled up with loyal persons.
” All this is wisdom to avoid major crises before our congress but it appears Steven want to cause serious problem in Michika. Let him be warned on the pending dangers if is forcing it this way.” Kwatri said
When contacted , Mr Steven Maduwa in a state of disdained condemned and described the statements of Gaggo as gross offence against his person.
According to him his level in politics is not too low to condescend to ward politics.
Maduwa made it clear that he is not interested in the ward Congresses issues, all he knows he doesn’t have other people more than those in the current positions of party leadership in Michika.
He revealed that the only people were allowed by the party to temper with the ward Congress are senators, House of Representatives members and other critical stakeholders.
Steven further said that the allegation by Kwatri is baseless and unfunded beside nobody told him such a thing has happened, all he know of is what his ward chairman told him that a meeting is organized on Monday to concretize the best way to go, either by election or consensus decision taken by stakeholders.
“In Adamawa PDP has nominated key stakeholders that are going to take decision of the ward Congress, councillors is the least of them and the only persons that are allowed to interfere in this issue is the senator from his ward,member House of Representatives from his ward and member state house of assembly from his ward.
” And these people can not go to any Ward to temper with their executive. Then steven maduwa is in what capacity do I belong to knowing fact that I do not belong to that category.
“Honestly It does not correlate joining me with that, I was not in Michika, I was not part of their meeting and I’m too big to go that low.” Maduwa said
To further portray Steven’s view the Chairman, Michika local government, Mr. Michael Shehu denied such a thing happened in his area.
He said the whole process was done peacefully and under a good frame of mind by all stakeholders.
According to him, the issue has beaten his imagination if such a thing will happen and he will not be properly briefed as the council chairman.
“I can categorically tell you nobody told me of this as a council chairman. like I said my ward had conducted theirs peacefully in my house with no complaints. ” Shehu said
This is coming when the Adamawa PDP is getting set for their scheduled September, 26th 2021 ward Congress across the 21 local governments in the state.
