But CAMPAN being a group of practicing Journalists has never for once issued a press statement or show of professionalism to promote the good ideals in Dami of a true called Priest who is daily reconciling humanity back to Christ” TGNEWS.
It has come to the notice of the Publisher and entire Staff of TGNEWS (The General News) of a unscripted rejoinder credited to Catholic Association of media practitioners (CAMPAN) displayed a gold brick character of wrong ideal practice of journalism as they claimed.
CAMPAN in an attempt to response to a report published by TGNEWS on the 21st December,2019 has blundered around facts and shown lack of professional sense to conscript well the report in the spot light of the online media outfit.
TGNEWS divulged a report that forced CAMPAN to issued a rejoinder because of the Press statement issued by a YOWICAN Christian group believed to be a faction under the leadership of George Oaya.
TGNEWS as a media organization was invited to cover a “congress” of the Christian Youth at a seen “YOWICAN SECRETARY”opposite old stadium in Jimeta,Yola where the correspondent witnessed a gathering of youths stating their position of disloyal to the excos newly elected on the 14th December 2019.
The press statement duly signed by George Oaya reads thus:
“We the Exco and indeed the entire YOWICAN members of Adamawa State were surprised by what some people who are not members of YOWICAN who gathered in EYN church on Saturday 14th December, 2019, and conducted a purported and charred election, for a new executive members.
“YOWICAN elections in States are conducted by the Zonal leaders, after the expiration of three years tenure, the tenure of the present executive committee members will expire on the 18th May, 2022. What would have warranted the conduction of an election, while the tenure of the present Exco is still intact?
“We have not received any instrument from either the National or Zonal Exco members of CAN, informing us of our dissolution, so when the purported election was going, we called the national and the zonal Secretariat to know from them if they were aware of the so called election, their answers were resounding NO. We later confirmed that the unscrupulous exercise was directed by the Adamawa state CAN, who does not have the constitutional right to dissolve or conduct YOWICAN Exco or election.
” In the light of the aforementioned, therefore the purported election is illegal, Luciferically conceived and executed, with the intention to cause breach peace, confusion, disunity and undermine the sanctity of the Christendom as well as the autonomy of the various blocks that constitute CAN as a whole.
“We refused to be provoked to illegality, or taking authority in our hands, therefore chose the part Of peace, and call on the peace loving youth and Christians in general to disregard the so called new YOWICAN Exco members. As Pastor George Steven Oaya is still the chairman of YOWICAN, his Exco and the entire members are solidly behind him.
“We also wish to warn all and sundry, never to have anything to do with the purported new Exco; as they are impostors and never meant well for the Christian family in Adamawa state in particular and Nigeria as whole.
“The general public are hereby asked to hickle and warn the so called new Exco never to parade themselves as the Exco of YOWICAN, for if they do, they would have the wrath of the law to contend with. Thank you.
“Long live YOWICAN Adamawa State.
Long live YOWICAN Northeast.
Long live YOWICAN National.

It was in this premise that TGNEWS made all efforts and spoke with Godwin Joseph, the newly elected Chairman of YOWICAN whose victory is being challenged “because of “selfish reason” to oust George on age ground as alleged by One Adeno.
“After the election that brought in George as a duly elected chairman,it was later discovered Oaya is over aged and his election stands dissolved.
“The zonal official that conducted the first election won by George was the same people conducted the December 14th election.” Godwin revealed
To have much clarity on the protracted Crisis rocking the entire CAN in Adamawa,the CAN chairman,Bishop Dami Steven Mamza phone was “saying switched off.”
TGNEWS send an SMS to him wanting a response over the issues of the youth group under his leadership,to the time of filing in this report he has not responded.
Anthony Elisha who is the secretary of the State mother CAN and believe to be the custodian of the constitution of the mother Union,when contacted through a telephone interview simply said:
“I’m not aware election was held somewhere and CAN conducted or aware of something like that,all I know in YOWICAN there is a leadership under Pst George Oaya and nobody has dissolved them or a faction else where exist.” He said
It is on view of the above facts the editorial news room of TGNEWS came about the headline:” ADAMAWA YOWICAN EMBROILS IN LEADERSHIP TUSSLES”
Then what is the crime of TGNEWS printing a verifiable report? I think CAMPAN is a group of charlatans journalists whose main work is to confuse the general public and assuming facts to be fiction.
TGNEWS wish to inform the general public that is standing by its earlier publication without retraction or apology to anybody or group of person(s) as all facts leading to the said report were cross checked and recorded.
But however wants the general public to know that:
1. TGNEWS is not out to tarnish the image of CAN Chairman and Christians Faithfuls in the State but to reawaken the conscience of peace through dialogue by disseminating information to the general public with verifiable truth.
2.Facts available to TGNEWS and behold to any sane person that TGNEWS is never in anyway want to tarnish the image of the revered Bishop Stephen Damai Mamza who is the State CAN chairman. Rather to state out issues the way they seems to be.
3. It is on record and down the memory lane that the publisher of TGNEWS established cordial relationship and published “palatable” and PR stories in support of Dami’s administration,who came with a vision,focused and vigor to entirely create a new CAN in Adamawa state for the sake of God and humanity.
It is rather unfortunate CAMPAN whose claims is in defence of Bishop Dami has failed to portray the respected CAN chairman Adamawa has ever produced to good light. His good agenda in bringing sanity in the Christendom, with concrete infrastructure projects over the time has CAMPAN failed to promote.
CAMPAN in its assumed desire and passion to defend Dami is a sign of hypocrisy and pretense in a show of weakness of what they are suppose to be doing long before now.
If one may ask,where is CAMPAN when the good intention of Dami is being misinterpreted with a viral video on YouTube? What is LAMPAN saying on the near completion five star state CAN secretariat under the leadership of Dami? Probably they are not truly what they say they are,rather one may conclude to have been sponsored to write against TGNEWS because of some obvious reason. Advising CAMPAN to go back to the drawing board and learn what to write as a response,when and how and at what time to do it.

TGNEWS is however being compelled to remind CAMPAN to recheck its intentions over the press statement trending on many social media platforms, fingering TGNEWS as a media outfit tarnishing the image of Christians and Bishop Dami Mamza in Adamawa state because is making them dullards with no knowledge to write a rejoinder. These are group of sponsored journalists against TGNEWS as it has never addressed concern issues raised by the factional YOWICAN,and never mean well for Dami who they claimed they are defending.
