The Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo in Taraba State, has received donations of Medical Equipment and Supplies worth Three Hundred and Eighty Thousand, US Dollars from Sir Emeka Offor Foundation in Partnership with Future Assured Program of the First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari.
Our Correspondent reports that the event took place at the premises of the hospital in Jalingo.
Delivering the medical equipments, Emeka Offor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Chris Okey said the gesture was to strengthen effective health care delivery in the Country, noting that the public health services should not be left to the government alone.
Speaking at the Occasion, the First Lady of Nigeria, A’isha Muhammadu Buhari, represented by Alh. Kabiru Dodo explained that the Collaboration with Sir Emeka Offor Foundation is based on their share vision to compliment government effort especially in the health sector.
She also appealed to the Management of the FMC, Jalingo to make judicious use of the donated items and urged other private organisations and philanthropists to come together and assist the government.
Also speaking, Governor Darius Ishiaku, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Anthony Jellason, said the donation was timely, as the state government is desirous of the rich and well to do to compliment its efforts in providing quality healthcare delivery in the state.
On her part, the Medical Director of FMC Jalingo, Dr. A’isha Adamu, expressed gratitude to the two donors, adding that the Equipments will enable the hospital to establish Intensive Care Unit and strengthen Isolation Centre among others.
