Covid-19 palliative: Gov Fintiri receives 100 trucks of assorted grains from FG

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has urged the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency complete the Chochi irrigation project which was kick started about two decades ago but abandoned.

The governor also urged the federal government to dredge river Benue in order to avert the perennial flooding in the state as a result of releases of excess water from Lagdo dam.

Fintiri made the call when he received the minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruq who presented 100 trucks of assorted grains COVID-19 palliative to the state at Government House, Yola.

Fintiri who extend profound appreciation to the Buhari led administration for donating the food items at a time when the prices of foodstuff have gone beyond the roof assured the federal government of immediate and judicious distribution of the items to vulnerable population in the state.

Earlier in her remark, Faruq said the items provided by the federal government from the national food reserve include maize, Sorghum and others.
