Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba has sued for peace among residents of Kwararafa village, in Gassol Local Government Area of the state, following an outbreak of crisis among the residents during the weekend.
In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Govovernor in Media and Publicity, Bala Dan Abu said Ishaku is unhappy with frequent resort to violence by people who have lived together for decades as good neighbours, noting that this is never the right solution for disagreements among people and communities.
He said whatever the issues that may be involved and whatever the depth of the feelings and sentiments that those issues generated, dialogue remains the best approach for achieving peaceful resolution.
” The Governor is unhappy and deeply concerned about the turn of events in Kwararafa and has directed security agencies to intervene to restore peace quickly.” The statement said.
The Governor advised residents of Kwararafa village to cooperate with security agencies deployed to the area to facilitate the quick return of nomalcy to the village.
When contacted for comment on the security situation in the area, Taraba state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP David Misal could not be reach on telephone.
