The All Progressives Congress (APC) is facing internal turmoil as serious allegations have emerged against the newly endorsed Chairman of the party in Lamurde, Hon. Babangida Philemon. Sources claim that Philemon, allegedly acting on the orders of external benefactors, deliberately worked against the interests of the APC, using party funds and resources to undermine key candidates including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Engr. Adamu Ismaila, Hon. Vrati Sahulama Nzonzo, and Hon. Bedan Menayi.
Barr. Shagnah Pwamaddi Maboyofe who is a bonafide Party member and served as a Former APC State Legal Adviser gave an eyewitness accounts, and revealed that the endorsed LGA Party chairman of Lamurde was seen booing and ridiculing fellow party members, including Hon. Simon Sale Shifoto, Hon. Simon Innazo, and Hon. Ariel Olse, following the APC’s disappointing performance in the recent Governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Shagnah signed a statement drawing the attention of party critical stakeholders that party members in Lamurde expressed their dismay over Philemon’s leadership, asserting that his actions are indicative of a larger problem within the party. “For the APC, it seems all is well to have an anti-party agent as the Chairman of the party in Lamurde,” one concerned party member stated. “Congratulations to you, Babangida Philemon, as you have come on board to lead the party in your usual manner of working against us. But we will not be your victims any longer.”
Despite his controversial position, Philemon remains in office, with reports indicating that none of the local government and ward-level party executives have endorsed him. This lack of support further complicates the party’s efforts to unify and strengthen its base in Lamurde, as factions within the party express their discontent.
