Following the swearing in of Gentle Pharis as the acting Chairman of Numan Local Government area of Adamawa State of the All Progressives Congress by the State Working Committee (SWC) under the leadership of Barr Idris Shuaibu, State Chairman and endorsed by the elders of the area.

The swearing in exercise brought yet another contrary stand by some factional elders of the area and insisted that the Court ruling of 15th March 2024 by Justice Ahmed Isah in favor of Ndikashe which the state chairman of the party, Idris Shuaibu on 21st March congratulated him as the substantive chairman.

In a statement made available to this medium signed by ๐€๐๐ข๐ณ๐จ ๐„๐๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐Š๐š๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐š the crisis rocking the Numan chapter of the APC made the elders from the local government summoned an emergency meeting and condemned the actions of the State Working Committee of the party in Yola for expelling Ndikashe who is the Numan substantive party chairman.

The statement read that elders in Numan local government on Wednesday differed over the expulsion of the chairman for taking to court the state chapter of the party.

They described the expulsion as null and void, depicting the effort as an act of defying the court ruling that affirmed Ndikashe Mariko, as the substantive party chairman after his suspension from the party on 23rd, September, 2023.

Making the State chairman to bear in mind that the provisions of the constitution of APC laid down rules guiding the affairs of the party, the elders lamented that the State Working Committee has no power whatsoever to suspend or expel the Chairman without due recourse of proper channel as provided by the Party’s constitution.

One of the party stakeholder and an elder in Numan, Hon. ๐๐ก๐š๐ง๐ฎ๐ž๐ฅ ๐Œ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฎ expressed dismay over the unfair act that infringes the rules of the party as well as violating the Court judgment of the High Court, portraying their actions as a step engulfed by lack of respect to the rule of law.

Adding his voice also,Mr Asford Newton, chairman of APC Elders Forum Numan Chapter, while addressing the council of Elders on their position in Numan, expressed anxiety over the infringement of noncompliance with the court Judgment that affirmed Ndikashe Mariko as the party chairman for Numan local government area.

The Council of Elders however vowed to remain loyal party members of APC despite the unfortunate venture that may steer in parallel sections amongst party fellows.

They reiterated their position that Ndikashe Mariko, is the substantive party chairman of APC, Numan local government area of Adamawa state, pending when his tenure elapses.

“This is the crucial time when we are more interested in reconciling aggrieved members and bringing in more members into the party than sanctioning any for an allegation which may engulf the unity that exists amongst the party members”. He said.

This is coming after Mr. Pharis Gentle, was sworn in as acting chairman barely five days after accepting the Court Judgment in good faith by the party’s state working committee, issuing a congratulatory letter to ๐๐๐ข๐ค๐š๐ฌ๐ก๐ž ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ค๐จ. dated 21st March 2024 by the state party chairman Barr. ๐ˆ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ ๐’๐ก๐ฎ๐š๐ข๐›๐ฎ, contrary to the judgment of Hon.
