As part of its 2024 Sustainability Week, Dangote Cement Plc’s Obajana Plant has embarked on various community service and public awareness programs in Kogi State.
Dr. Eseosa Ighile, Head of Sustainability at Dangote Cement Plc, Obajana, highlighted the company’s efforts to engage with and support local communities through donations and outreach. The Obajana Sustainability Champions visited the Ministry of Mercy orphanage in Lokoja, providing essential supplies and food items, and spending quality time with the children and residents.
According to Engr. Azad Nawabuddin, Plant Director of Dangote Cement Plc, Obajana Plant, this year’s Sustainability Week aligns with the theme “SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities.” The company also educated young people on climate change and health-related issues during the week-long celebration.
Dr. Igazeuma Okoroba, Head of Sustainability at Dangote Cement Plc, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainability and supporting host communities. This initiative demonstrates Dangote Cement’s dedication to giving back to the community and promoting sustainable development.
