Dani Carvajal to Leave Real Madrid at End of Season

Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal will depart the club at the end of the 2025/2026 season, the Spanish giants announced on Monday.

The 34-year-old defender, who has spent over a decade with Los Blancos, has made 450 appearances for the club and won an impressive 27 trophies, including six UEFA Champions League titles and four La Liga crowns.

In an official statement, Real Madrid expressed deep gratitude to one of its greatest legends.

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez also paid tribute, describing Carvajal as “a legend and a symbol of Real Madrid and its academy.”

Carvajal joined Real Madrid’s youth academy (La Fábrica) and was later sold to Bayer Leverkusen in 2012 before returning to the Bernabéu the following year. He has been a key figure in the team’s success over the years.

The defender’s final match for Real Madrid is expected to be this weekend against Athletic Bilbao at the Santiago Bernabéu in La Liga.

This season has been challenging for Carvajal, as persistent injuries limited his playing time. According to reports, he will also miss Spain’s squad for the upcoming World Cup due to his fitness concerns.
