Renowned Nigerian artist Davido has made a generous pledge of ₦300 million to support orphanages across the country, reinforcing his commitment to philanthropy through the Davido Adeleke Foundation (DAF). The announcement was made via his official Twitter account on Monday, as he prepared for his birthday celebrations.
“Once again this year for my birthday, we’re donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year is N300m. Details to follow soon,” tweeted Davido, igniting excitement among his fans and supporters.

Founded in 2022, the Davido Adeleke Foundation was established to provide assistance to vulnerable children in Nigeria, in collaboration with other charitable organizations. Last July, Davido announced that his foundation had allocated over ₦200 million to orphanages, benefiting 13,818 children.
In previous statements, Davido expressed his deep-seated desire to make a lasting impact. “I founded DAF in 2022 with a strong passion to assist and create a proper framework for ongoing charitable works that benefit the good people of Nigeria. Through this foundation, we have raised millions of Naira and dispersed much-needed funds to hundreds of orphanages, significantly improving the lives of countless children,” he noted in a press release at that time.

Davido’s philanthropic efforts have their roots in a remarkable tradition. In 2021, following his birthday, he attracted considerable attention after sharing his bank account details on Twitter, subsequently raising over ₦200 million. He pledged to donate all the funds to orphanages across Nigeria and to the Paroche Foundation, eventually disbursing an additional ₦50 million.
