“Defence Queen”: Traditional title confers on Commodore Jamila Malafa

The District Head of Song, Alhaji Ahmadu Sa’idu has described Navy Commodore Jamila Abubakar Sadiq Malafa as a Lioness and a Queen strong enough to defend her people.

In a letter extolling the only Northern Woman who reached the rank of Commodore in the Nigerian Navy and an indigene of Adamawa state, Ardo Song conferred the traditional title of “Sarauniyar Yakin Song” on her because she Distinguished herself a role model to all women in the nation.

According to him, it is an Honour that suggest bravery, wisdom, love and defence of her people. Referring to Jamila as a war Amazon that walked to the heights of her military career through determination and hard work.

The conferment dated back to 5th March 2019 and Malafa will soon be turbaned a Queen of war, defending the right of people, especially helping the less privileged and the vulnerable in the society.

The District Head of Song who through approval from the Lamido Fombina, Adamawa Emirate Council HRH Dr Mohammadu Mustapha Aliyu Barkindo, PhD, consider Jamila a defender of the masses in Song.
