A SPECIAL TRIBUTE ON HIS EXCELLENCY PROFESSOR BABAGANA UMARA ZULUM CON, MNI, FNSE, THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF BORNO STATE, ON THIS JOYOUS OCCASION OF DEMOCRACY DAY 2025.
As Nigeria marks Democracy Day 2025, the selfless and committed leadership of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State, and Leader of the North East, must be honored. Governor Zulum, a renowned academic and administrator, has distinguished himself with numerous awards, including the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), Member of the National Institute (MNI), and Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE).
Governor Zulum’s tireless efforts to improve the lives of the common person are a shining example of a true democrat and democracy is indeed in action. His early morning visit to hospitals on Democracy Day, arriving as early as 5:00 a.m., is a testament to his compassion and dedication to the welfare of the good people of Borno State. The cash donations to patients, covering their medical bills, demonstrate his commitment to alleviating the suffering of the most vulnerable.
Beyond this singular act, his administration’s impressive record of over 1,000 projects in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, road networks, water, and environment is a remarkable achievement. The commissioning of 20 Road Projects, the Commencement of Two New Hospital projects, and an International Conference Centre are just a few examples of his larger vision for a better Borno.
His leadership is a beacon of hope for the people of Borno and a shining example for other leaders to follow. On this Democracy Day 2025, I salute his selflessness, commitment, and dedication to the service of God and Humanity.
To me, Governor Zulum is the most amiable Governor of our time, a true Leader, a Compassionate Administrator, and a Shining Star in the Nigerian Political Landscape. May his Legacy continue to inspire generations to come.
