Despite NLC strike pronouncement, Adamawa NUT set for world teachers day

Despite the impending Nationwide strike by Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union side coming up on Tuesday 3rd October 2023, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Adamawa state Wing says,the event will still hold at Mahmud Ribadu Square as the National Secretariat has given the go ahead.

The Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is expected to personally grace the occasion as about 20 delegates from each of the 21 local governments have been mobilized to participate in the appetizing ceremony.

The State Chairman of NUT, Comrade Atiku Buba who hinted Newsmen on the level of preparation so far disclosed that the leadership of the union has already summoned an emergency SWEC meeting to appraised areas of interest that will be presented to the Governor for consideration.

Atiku Buba who confirmed the appointment of additional 2,000 teachers earlier under the Post Primary Education Board Yola explained that the manpower has strengthened the workforce.

He implored those employed under Local Education Authorities to exercise patience as due process is being followed for simultaneous payment of their salaries.

World Teachers Day is being celebrated every 5th of October worldwide to commemorate with teachers on their struggles.
