DICON Rebukes Misleading Allegations on Staff Promotion Denials

The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) has issued a statement addressing unfounded allegations published by an online media outlet. The allegations claimed DICON leadership intentionally excluded staff members from the 2024 promotion list due to their participation in a staff protest.

DICON clarified its promotion and disciplinary processes, emphasizing adherence to Public Service Regulations. The corporation operates through civilian-led committees, with the Director-General approving recommendations based on objective assessments.

Forty-six staff members were excluded from the promotion list due to disciplinary actions for persistent absenteeism and violating the DICON Act 2023. These staff had also participated in a strike action.
