The attention of a Naval officer, Commodore Jamila Abubakar Sadiq Malafa has been drawn by an unscrupulous people who are impostors using an Instagram account in her name defrauding members of the general public.
The senior woman Navy officer warning those parading themselves as “Commodore Jamila Malafa” in the social media especially Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to stop as an eye of the law is watching them.
She however called on the general public to be wary of person(s),or group of people on the social media demanding money for a particular favour or the other as she does not uses and have any personal or private account for official duties.
According to her the warning become imperative because of how in recent times the social media criminals have demanded money from many people who are her close relations and associates in her name to provide jobs for them.
The Adamawa born Navy officer Said the general public especially people from her state and colleagues have been seen to be the target audience of these social media miscreants.
She revealed that she does not give appointment with the Nigerian Navy, no Navy officer will collect money in the name of employment and People should be careful with anybody asking them for money to secure them job with the Navy.
“Those using my name on the social media cheating innocent Nigerians to pay for employment in the Navy should stop as the law will not be kind to them when apprehended.
“I’m using this medium distancing myself from such dubious acts and also calling on the general public to be wary of those parading themselves as me in the social media as I don’t have or operate one”. She said
