The General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has cleared the air over the general public assumption misquoting him to have joined politics in recent times.
Adeboye on Sunday during a live Sunday sermon broadcasted to thousands of people across the world who have hooked up to the dove television, stressed that he is a called Pastor who has never been to politics and can never join for whatever reason.
He said God has specifically called him to be a Pastor not a politician and he remains so with no any political attachments.
The respected Clergy Man told worshippers to listen with an anointed heart and ear that he only has a primary duty to pray for Nigeria.
He said many people have resorted to going to the media written all manner of articles, describing him a politician. He regarded them as detractors that he can not allow to distract him.
“I’m only a pastor, I need to get it clear once and for all. My assignment is to preach and pray for Nigeria. Nobody should distract me. I must pray. I must pray for Nigeria, our beloved country .” He said
While talking about the 2023 general elections, Daddy GO as is popularly called said that 2023 is not his priority, as there are many issues he is asking God for the nation.
According to him, God did not tell him if there is yet going to be an election in 2023 as there was no a categorical revelation on that regard.
He, however, said that does not mean God will not talk as we are still in April, a time very far from the election date.
“If you want to know the truth, as I’m now standing before you. I still don’t know yet whether there is going to be an election.” He stated
He said that there are more important things and issues occupying his mind for the country, is focusing on asking God to address them.
Daddy GO during the Sunday Sermon said Kaduna is becoming a no-go area either by road, air or train as a result of insecurity.
He asked questions Why Kaduna, who is trying to make the area unsafe, and after Kaduna which place is next.
Another more worrisome issue occupying his mind for the nation is the news trending without denial that more than 80% of oil production is being stolen.
Wondering Who is stealing the oil products, where is the money going to and who are the foreign nations buying the stolen goods?.
Revealed also, that there is undeniable news of a report that more than 90% of money gotten from revenue generation the government is using to pay interest on the money it has already borrowed.
He worried that the country is steadily moving toward bankruptcy, and these are the reasons he is not thinking of the 2023 elections.
He called on all RCCG members to join political parties of their choice as the church represents all parties.
He charged members to get their voters card in tact, warning them to vote and defend their votes under whichever party is their civic and franchise right they must exercise to choose their leader.
“You blame yourself if you seat down and refused to vote, don’t complain if you refused to vote and they choose for you any leader. Before you became a Christian you are a Nigerian. You must belong to any party of your choice and you must make sure there is no more rigging in the election system of Nigeria.” Daddy GO said
He maintained that he is a father to all his sons and daughters who are into politics in whichever party, a reason he doesn’t vote in any election so that he won’t be seen favoring anyone or any political party.
He said that if witches will show interest in politics he will also show interest in order to get the right leaders in the place of authority.
“God have mercy on our nation, exposed those stealing our money.” He prayed
The Man of God’s shocking revelation has laid to rest the controversies over RCCG setting up a department on politics and governance, ahead of the 2023 General Elections.
