Four Correctional Service Adamawa comprises of Yola, Jimeta, Yola Pate and Hong got some philanthropic splashes donation from Dr. Emmanuel N Musa as a sigh of celebration to user them into the 2022 new year.
Musa confirmed to this medium the gesture is to help the prisoner acquire skills that can make them self-reliant and become better people in society.
According to him, he donated electrical and manual sewing machines, electrical wielding machines, cows, consumables cutting machines, netting, drugs, and other vocational training equipment to the four correctional centers to train them to make them self-reliant.
The Comptroller Nigerian Correctional Service Adamawa State Command, Mr. Ahmed K. Musa has applauded Dr. Emmanuel for the numerous assistance he has been rendering to the Nigerian Correctional Service in the state.
The Comptroller applauded Musa when he led other top officers of the command to pay a courtesy visit at his Dougirei residence.
The comptroller recalled how recently Musa secured the release of thirty 30 inmates at a time the centers are all filled up with prisoners.
He highlighted some of the problems bedeviling prisons in the country, which include inadequate feeding and neglect of the inmates
He used the medium to urge the philanthropist to continue to assist Correctional Centres in the state.
The Comptroller also urged the philanthropist to donate cows and foodstuffs to inmates in celebration of the new year, so that the inmates will feel a sense of belonging.
Finally, he urged the philanthropist to also assist them in setting up a hall with computers so that they could kick start a National Open University of Nigerian (NOUN) Centre which will enable inmates to partake in learning.
Responding, Dr. Emmanuel N. Musa stated that he decided to extend his Philanthropic gesture to prisons because prisoners are humans as well.
He revealed that he is aware that prisoners are neglected and as such he has decided to not only train prisoners on skills acquisition but also pay fines and compensation to prisoners with minor offenses so that they be released.
Dr. Emmanuel instantly made a donation of cows to the Correctional Service in the state so that inmates could celebrate the new year like normal people.
It could be recalled that the international business mogul of repute after settling all fines of 30 inmates, donated manual and electric sewing machines and other vocational equipment and also gave them transport fares to their respective homes to celebrate Christmas with Their families.
