The Andrew Stirrett ECWA Hospital in Bukuru has officially dedicated two cutting-edge medical facilities, significantly expanding its capacity to deliver advanced diagnostic and specialist care to the community.

The new buildings a modern Radiology and Scanning Diagnostic Centre and a dedicated Dental and Eye Care facility were unveiled and blessed during a well-attended ceremony graced by top ECWA leadership, church elders, community stakeholders, and hospital personnel.
Delivering the keynote address, the President of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Dr. Job Ayuba Baggat, praised the hospital’s progress as a divine move forward.
“God is a God of new things, and He is doing great things in ECWA,” he declared. He commended Chief Medical Director Dr. Jamimah Agyima for her visionary leadership and challenged staff to see their roles as a missionary calling.
“Hospital business is a fertile ground for mission, and all workers must represent Christ,” Rev. Dr. Baggat stressed, reaffirming that providing quality healthcare forms an integral part of ECWA’s holistic ministry to body, mind, and soul.
The facilities were thoughtfully named to honour distinguished ECWA figures for their lifelong service. The Radiology/Scanning Diagnostic Centre bears the name of the current ECWA General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe, while the Dental and Eye Care building is dedicated to the memory of the late Trustee, Yusuf Dembo.
In a heartfelt response, Rev. Dr. Asheshe expressed profound gratitude for the living tribute. “The hospital has shown me love by giving me my flowers while I am alive,” he said, adding that ECWA is actively repositioning all its hospitals to offer world-class medical services to Nigerians.
Dr. Jamimah Agyima, the Chief Medical Director, extended thanks to the ECWA Executive for their consistent backing.
She traced the hospital’s remarkable journey since its establishment in 1982, when it operated with just one staff member, to its current workforce of about 75 dedicated professionals.
“People trust ECWA Hospitals because of the care they give to humanity,” she noted. With the new additions, the facility now offers comprehensive radiology and scanning services alongside specialized eye and dental care, with plans underway to introduce further enhancements.
The Chairman of the Bukuru District Church Council (DCC), Rev. Ezra Anthony, drew on scriptural promises of health and restoration to highlight the spiritual dimension of the hospital’s mission. A representative from the family of the late Yusuf Dembo conveyed heartfelt appreciation to God and ECWA for immortalizing their patriarch in this meaningful way.
The dedication ceremony drew participation from members of the ECWA Executive Committee and numerous dignitaries from Jos and beyond, underscoring the broad support for the hospital’s growth and its vital role in serving the people of Plateau State and Nigeria.
This expansion reinforces Andrew Stirrett ECWA Hospital’s longstanding commitment rooted in its missionary heritage to blending compassionate Christian service with high-quality, accessible healthcare.
