ECWA in Mourning: Vice President’s Brother Killed, Wife Abducted in Farm Attack

The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) community is mourning the sudden and tragic death of Elder John Omoniyi Ajise, the younger brother of the church’s Vice President, Rev. Dr. Sunday Stephen Ajise.

According to an official statement released by the ECWA Acting Public Relations Officer (PRO), Danjuma Dickson Auta, Elder Ajise was abducted from his farm earlier today during a violent incident. He was tragically killed by his abductors. His wife was also kidnapped in the same attack and remains in captivity.

The statement, addressed to all ECWA leaders and members worldwide, described the event as a “sad demise” and highlighted the profound pain it has brought to Rev. Dr. Ajise and his entire family.

“This is to bring to your notice the sad demise of Elder John Omoniyi Ajise, younger brother to our Vice President, Rev. Dr. Sunday Stephen Ajise,” the statement read. “Elder Ajise was abducted from his farm this morning and was tragically killed by his abductors. His wife was also kidnapped during the incident.”

ECWA leadership has called on the global church family to rally in support during this difficult time.

“We are using this medium to request your earnest prayers and encouragement for Rev. Dr. Ajise and his entire family as they navigate this painful moment,” the statement continued. “Please keep them in your prayers and reach out with comforting words.”

Elder John Omoniyi Ajise was a respected member of the ECWA community, and his untimely death has sent shockwaves through the denomination, which has a widespread presence across Nigeria and beyond.

No further details on the location of the incident, the identity of the perpetrators, or the current status of the ongoing search for the abducted wife were provided in the statement.
