ECWA President, Plateau Deputy Governor Pay Tribute as Naomi Yako Is Laid to Rest

The late Mrs. Naomi Silas Yako, a devoted Christian and passionate servant of God, has been laid to rest amid glowing tributes from church leaders, government officials, family members, and friends who gathered to celebrate her life of faith and service.

Speaking during the funeral service, the President of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Dr. Job Ayuba Bagat Mallam, assured the bereaved family that Mrs. Yako is resting peacefully with her Maker. He emphasized that the most important decision anyone can make in life is to know and love the Lord.

On behalf of the ECWA leadership, the church president expressed heartfelt condolences to the family and prayed for God’s comfort and strength during their period of mourning.

Representing the Governor of Plateau State, Deputy Governor Mrs. Josephine Piyo described the deceased as a woman who lived wholeheartedly for God and positively impacted many lives through her exemplary character and unwavering faith.

She encouraged those in attendance to emulate Mrs. Yako’s godly lifestyle and prayed that God would fill the void created by her passing.

Delivering the sermon from Revelation 14:13, the ECWA Assistant General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Sunday Congo, urged believers to serve God faithfully and wholeheartedly so they could enjoy a blessed end and receive eternal rewards.

In an emotional tribute, Mrs. Yako’s husband, Rev. Silas Yako, thanked God for the gift of his late wife, describing her as a woman whose influence extended beyond her family to countless others. He recalled her commitment to raising their children, supporting God’s work, and touching lives through her kindness and faith.

Rev. Yako reflected on the values that defined their marriage, noting that their union was founded on God’s providence rather than human circumstances. He also challenged Christians to place their trust in God, remain faithful to Christ, and embrace a life of obedience and self-denial.

Among the dignitaries who attended the service were the ECWA Vice President, Rev. Chidi Joseph Nmadubuko; the ECWA General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe; past and present ECWA executives; senior government officials; and former Governor of Plateau State, Joshua Chibi Dariye.

Born in May 1958 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Yohanna Tumba of Michika, Mrs. Yako was remembered as a woman whose life was marked by unwavering faith, dedication to God’s service, and a commitment to positively impacting those around her.

Speakers at the service described her as a woman of virtue whose good works, compassion, and devotion to the Christian faith left an enduring legacy for future generations.

Following the funeral service, Mrs. Yako was interred at St. Pirans Cemetery, bringing to a close a life widely celebrated as one devoted to God, family, and humanity.
