ECWA President Urges Professionalism, Unity as Nat’l Administrative Seminar Opens in Jos

The President of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Dr. Job Ayuba Bagat Mallam, has challenged administrative personnel across the church to embrace professionalism, excellence, and bridge-building as essential tools for effective service in a rapidly changing world.

He gave the charge while declaring open the Annual Seminar for Confidential Secretaries, Personal Assistants, Administrative Officers and Assistants, Human Resource Officers, and Office Assistants at the ECWA International Conference Centre in Jos.

The seminar, themed “Professionalism in a World of Dissent: Building Bridges in the 21st Century,” brought together more than 300 participants drawn from different parts of Nigeria.

In his opening address, Rev. Dr. Bagat emphasized the importance of professionalism, unity, and dedication to duty, urging participants to maximize the opportunity provided by the seminar to enhance their skills, improve service delivery, and strengthen workplace relationships.

Delivering the keynote address, the ECWA General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe, described professionalism as more than technical competence, noting that it also encompasses respect, dialogue, integrity, and the ability to build bridges among people of diverse backgrounds.

According to him, effective communication, mutual understanding, and healthy relationships are indispensable for advancing the mission and vision of the church in today’s complex environment.

Earlier, during a devotion, the ECWA Vice President, Rev. Chidi Madubuko, encouraged participants to remain faithful in their responsibilities and maintain an uncompromising relationship with God. Speaking on the topic, “Unlocking the Keys with Intimacy with God,” and drawing from Psalm 91:16, he reminded attendees that despite growing challenges in the world, those who trust in Christ have no reason to fear.

He urged the participants to carry out their duties as service unto God rather than men, stressing that secretaries and administrative personnel occupy strategic positions that demand diligence, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility. He added that God honours those who remain faithful to Him.

Also speaking at the event, the ECWA Assistant General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Sunday Congo, introduced the ECWA executives and directors in attendance and commended their commitment to strengthening administration and enhancing service delivery across the church.

The seminar is expected to provide participants with practical insights and professional development opportunities aimed at improving administrative efficiency and fostering stronger collaboration within ECWA’s structures nationwide.
