In a surprising turn of events, Senator Ishaku Abbo has put aside his differences with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to support his stance on the Edo gubernatorial election.

Abbo, who has been on the opposite side of Fintiri in the past, emphasized the importance of citizens’ participation and vigilance in elections.

The development comes after Governor Fintiri, who chaired the campaign in Edo, attempted to announce results from INEC’s IRev portal, only to be barred by INEC, citing electoral law violations.

Abbo’s support for Fintiri highlights the need for unity in promoting democratic values. “Citizens’ participation and vigilance are crucial in ensuring the integrity of our elections,” Abbo stated.

This unexpected alliance between Abbo and Fintiri underscores the significance of putting aside political differences for the greater good. Their past disagreements were well-documented, with Abbo even crossing party lines to support the APC in the 2023 elections.

However, during an EYN Church event, the two were seen exchanging pleasantries and warm hugs, sparking hopes of reconciliation. While some view this as a positive step towards unity, others remain skeptical, citing the complexities of Adamawa State’s politics.

As the Edo election saga unfolds, this unexpected alliance serves as a reminder that, even in the face of political differences, unity and cooperation are possible.
