Despite the assurance that there will be no arrest of politicians on or before the election on Saturday, some chieftains of PDP in Irrua, have been arrested, a group has alleged.
A statement on Thursday by the Edo Collectives claimed that Chief Ehikioha Clifford , Friday Adams and Obehi Stanley were allegedly arrested for “no reason” less than 48 hours to the governorship election by the police IRT.

The group also alleged that APC is threatening to kidnap women leaders in Etsako who are supporting PDP.
Recall that the APC has been variously accused of using Federal might to harass and intimidate the ruling PDP in the state.
The group said the position of PDP not to sign the peace accord is being manifested by unnecessary, unwarranted and indiscriminate arrest of PDP chieftains.
They therefore appealed to the Inspector General of Police to halt the provoking arrests being carried out a few hours before the election.
