Speaker Kabiru Mijinyawa of Adamawa state house of Assembly (ADHA) has paid over ten million naira Examination fees to final year students of Senior Secondary Schools ,amounting to 1000 students seating for this year’s 2018 National Examination Council (NECO) across Yola South Local Government.
Kabiru told journalists in Yola that the gesture is part of his effort to revived the education section which is under state of emergebcy earlier declared by the executive Governor of the state,Sen Muhammadu Umaru Jibirilla Bindow.
Mijinyawa who is the member representing Yola south constituency said education is of top most priority in his agenda considering its important to the lives of his constituents.
According to him about one thousand students were selected across the twenty secondary schools in Yola south constituency adding that Extra Moral classes was earlier organized to the beneficiaries in order to impact more skills on how write the Examinations.
While calling on the students to concentrate more on their Examinations, the lawmaker also commended the principals of the various secondary schools, supervisors of the scholarship award scheme, coordinators and teachers of the extra moral classes for their support through out the program.
When contacted the Principal of Aliyu Mustapha College Yola, Alhahi Ibrahim Hamman Adama Tukur said Speaker Kabiru Mijinyawa has paid for over three hundred students who are currently writing their NECO Examination in the center adding that the performance of those who attended the earlier organized extra moral classes by the lawmaker is recommendable.
On his part the Coordinator of the Speaker Kabiru Mijinyawa Extra Moral Classes Malam Awwal Tukur said the students who attended the program are eighty percent less privilege while others were selected best on their academic performance in order to encourage them in their studies
In an Interview with some of the students and their parents expressed their appreciation to the Speaker of the state Assembly for assisting them with the scholarship award promising that, they will complement his effort by coming out with flying colours result at end of the Examination.
Other Schools visited by state Assembly correspondents are Sanda Girls, School for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Government Day Secondary School Yola, GDSS Wuro Hausa, Njoboli, Shagari, Damare among other Senior Secondary Schools in Yola Town.
It could be recalled that speaker Kabiru Mijinyawa has been settling for some of the final year students examination fees to secondary school students since his assumption to office as member representing Yola south constituency in the state Assembly in twenty fifteen.
The ADHA under Kabiru Mijinyawa had being adjudge to have the most peaceful assembly with a good relationship with the executive still maintains their mandate of creating laws for the State.
