Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Makurdi Zonal Directorate, have apprehended Dr. Mkor Aondona, Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Documentation, Research, and Planning, on allegations of sextortion, cyber bullying, and blackmail.

Dr. Mkor Aondona

The arrest was made on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Makurdi following complaints from several female students accusing Aondona of severe misconduct.

According to the petitioners, Aondona allegedly exploited his position by recruiting slim and attractive young women for ushering jobs, conditioning their selection on sexual favors.

Aondona recorded their sexual encounters without consent and used the videos to blackmail them, threatening to leak the footage unless they continued complying with his demands

The students claimed that, unbeknownst to them, Aondona recorded their sexual encounters without consent and used the videos to blackmail them, threatening to leak the footage unless they continued complying with his demands.

Further allegations point to Aondona’s involvement in disseminating explicit videos of the victims, recorded without their knowledge, across various messaging platforms. Some of these videos are reportedly already in circulation, intensifying the victims’ distress.

The EFCC has confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and Aondona will face charges in court soon. The agency reiterated its commitment to combating cybercrime and protecting vulnerable individuals from exploitation.

This case has sparked widespread outrage in Benue State, with calls for justice and stronger measures to curb such predatory behavior in positions of power.
