The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed 17 charges against former Imo State governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, over alleged N2.9 billion.
The anti-graft agency accused Okorocha, a 2023 presidential aspirant, of conspiring with others to commit the alleged fraud.
The EFCC filed 17 charges against the senator, currently representing Imo West, at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
Others the commission said conspired with Okorocha, currently representing Imo West at the Senate to commit the alleged crimes inude Anyim Nyerere Chinenye, Naphtali International Limited, Perfect Finish Multi Projects Limited, Consolid Projects Consulting Limited, Pramif International Limited, and Legend World Concepts Limited.
The EFCC said the accused diverted the funds between October 2014 and February 2016 from the Imo State Government House account and Imo State Joint Local Government Project account.
