EFCC seizes Highland tea, temporarily forfeites company to Federal govt

EFCC letter of forfeiture to Taraba Govt

The Economy and Financial Crime Commission,EFCC in a Court order have seized up Highland Tea company and temporarily forfeited it to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The property which is located at Maisamari Village (Mambila Plateau) Taraba State covered by certificate of occupancy No. GS 7369 dated 30th April,1989 and registered as No. 3777/3777/44 of the land registry,Jalingo,Taraba State.

The court interim order granted by Hon Justice A .I Chikere of the Federal high Court Abuja, dated 24th July,2020 said no transaction is allowed to take place on the property without due clearance from the commission (EFCC)

Aliyu M Yusuf,EFCC acting director of assets forfeiture and recovery management signed a forwarding letter of the forfeiture to the Director Lands,Taraba State bureau for Land and surveys that an order of the honourable court permitted EFCC to appoint a competent person or firm to manage aforesaid properties and assets temporarily forfeited to the Federal government.
