In marking this Year’s end of Ramadan fast, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Sen Mohammed Umar Jibrilla Bindow in his Sallah Message to the people of Adamawa state and Nigerian Muslims urges them remain committed to the lessons of Ramadan.
According to him the fasting which culminate to Eid el Fitr sallah celebration teaches unconditional love, self discipline, peity, peace of mind, compassion and support for the less privileged should characterised the life of every Muslim.
In a statement singed by his Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Macauley Hunohashi, the Governor says, “an exemplary life of prayer and daily devotion to the teachings of the holy Qur’an are what is expected of a true Muslim faithful”.
He called on all citizens of the state to be joyful because of the relative peace and harmony that prevailed thruogh out the fasting period.
The governor noted that, “we are progressively consolidating on our gains because in the face of dounting challenges, the people of Adamawa State remained prayerful, eschewed negative utterances, hate speach and actions that are inimical to the progress of our dear state”.
“To build on these gains,we shall remain focused in our quest to provide dividends of good governance, especially infrastructure such as roads and standard drainage system, healthcare services, rehabilitation of schools and many more”, the Governor noted.
He called for ceaseless prayer and support for the administration of President Muhammad U Buhari so that the resolve to restore the image of the country, fight graft and recover looted funds, boost the economy, make life better and meaningful will be sustained.
He says, “We, in the North East can only show gratitude to the President for reclaiming many local government areas held captives by Boko Haram insurgents and establishment of a commission to rebuild the region”.
He is optimistic that with sustained prayer, patience and hard work Nigeria will attain greatness.
