The Adamawa State Commisioner for Local Government Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Yayaji Mijinawa has felicitated with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the people across the state on the occasion of 2024 Eid-el-kabir celebration.
The Commissioner in a statement made available to Sahel Reporters, Sunday congratulated the entire Muslim Ummah in the state for witnessing yet another occasion of Eid-el-adha.
He stressed that the Eid-el-kabir is a period for sacrifices to God and therefore called on Muslims to take this advantage and prayed fervently for peace and tranquility as well as development of the state.
“We thank Almighty Allah for witnessing this momentous event alive and hearty. This is a period we make sacrifices to our only creator, Allah. I therefore call on all of us to intensify prayers at this period for the well being of state,” he said.
The Commissioner urged Muslims to continue to foster peaceful coexistence in the state and support the programmes and policies of the Governor Fintiri administration in its quest to take Adamawa to greater heights.
On the forthcoming local government election in Adamawa slated for 13th July 2024, the Commissioner charged political actors in the state to play the game according to the rule and enlighten people to participate in the polls.
“I want to call on people in Adamawa irrespective of political party to come out and exercise their franchise during this election. This is the only way, we can build our democracy and elect credible leaders for our local government councils” he said.
