Alhaji Zubairu Hammangabdo, Emir of Gashaka in Taraba has called on social media users to refrain from posting unverified items to avoid causing disharmony among Nigerians.
Hammangabdo gave the advice on Sunday while speaking to newsmen at the celebration of 2019 Eid-el-kabir in Gashaka local government area of Taraba.
The First class chief complained how people were using social media to cause disaffection among communities, marriages and nations.
Hammangabdo also called on Nigerians to be learn to be tolerance and to forgive one another.
He urged the people of Taraba to eschew bitterness and embrace peace to attract the desired development.
“We should be mindful of the way we use social media because it is almost causing more harm than good.
” If we are not careful, social media will destroy home, cause social disharmony among people of various socio culturalbackgrounds.
“We should learn to verify items before we post them, such will do us better than the way it is now’, Hammangabdo urges.
He commended Gov.Darius Ishaku of Taraba for his efforts to ensure peace in the state.
He noted that the cardinal principles of his administration was peace and development.
The monarch called on people of the state to support the administration to achieve his next level for rescue mission.
According to him, my candid advice is that we must learn to forgive and tolerate one another.
