Eight killed in fresh Plateau attacks

At least eight persons have been reportedly killed in a fresh attacks by gunmen when they invaded Chicim community of Mangu Local Government Council of Plateau state .

According to a reliable source, eight persons were killed, while three others who sustained injuries are currently receiving treatment .

Locals who spoke to our correspondent on phone said the gunmen stormed the community which is just a kilometer from Mangu town at about 10 pm Tuesday night and started shooting at anything on sight.

An eye witness, Kespan Iliya, who is also a resident of the community told newsmen that the members of the community were asleep when the gunmen arrived in a commando style and started shooting sporadically.

Meanwhile efforts to get the media officer of Operations Save Haven (OPSH) Major Samson Zhakom to comment on the attack were unsuccessful as his mobile phone was switched off at the time of filling this report.
