Governor of Adamawa State, Sen Mohammed Umar Jibrilla, has joined his counterparts to congratulate the Governor-elect of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, over his victory at the recently concluded governorship election of Ekiti State.
In a statement by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Macauley Hunohashi, Sen Jibrilla said the outcome of the election is a testimony of the enviable antecedent of Dr Fayemi as a true son of Ekiti who is loved by his people.
He noted that, “as one-time governor and former Minister of Mines and Solid Minerals, Dr Fayemi has what it takes to provide the needed leadership that can transform Ekiti State because he is coming back to consolidate on what he had started during his stint as governor”.
Sen Jibrilla adviced the Governor elect to provide a level playing field for people of Ekiti, devoid of political, ideological and religeous beliefs, while describing the victory at the polls as a clarion call to serve the peopl.
He aplouded the resolve of the people in making what he described as, “the right choice in Dr Fayemi and their trust in the Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration and the quest to take Nigeria to greater heights”.
Sen Jibrilla also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, local and international election observers as well as security agencies for their roles in ensuring a free, fair and transparent governorship election.
