The Deputy Governor of Taraba state, Haruna Manu has commended the people of the state for their compliance to Covid 19 protocols.
Manu stated this on Friday at the Taraba State University Eid Ground in Jalingo, where he joined thousands of Muslim Ummah and performed the usual two raka’ats of Eid-el Kabir.
He said that the compliance by the people of the state had minimised the spread of the pandemic.
The deputy governor, called on the Muslim Ummah in the state to use the period of Sallah and pray against further spread of the disease.
He also urged them to pray for peace and unity in the state and country at large, described the Sallah as unique because it was celebrated in low keys due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
“I am appealing to the Muslim Ummah to pray against further spread of the disease not only in Taraba but all over the world.” Said Manu.
Meanwhile, the Eid prayer was led by the Chief Imam of the Taraba state University Juma’at Mosque, Dr. Salisu Ishaq Jibril.
However, the Imam slaughtered his ram as sacrifice short after the prayer.
