Elon Musk recently targeted a senior White House aide involved in his fallout with Donald Trump, according to reports. Tensions between Musk and Trump reportedly grew before Musk left the White House.
The situation worsened when Sergio Gor, the director of the presidential personnel office, persuaded Trump to withdraw the nomination of Jared Isaacman—a close friend of Musk’s—to lead NASA.
Peter Baker, Chief White House Correspondent for The New York Times and MSNBC analyst, tweeted that Gor has yet to complete the necessary background paperwork for a permanent security clearance. Musk responded by calling Gor a “snake.”
Insiders say Gor’s issues with Musk began after Musk publicly reprimanded him for the slow pace of staffing the administration.
According to a source, “Sergio was upset about Elon dressing him down and vowed to ‘get him.’” While Musk and Trump were still on friendly terms, Gor reportedly cheered whenever Tesla’s stock dropped.
After Musk’s term overseeing DOGE ended, Gor allegedly got revenge by convincing Trump to rescind Isaacman’s nomination.
Following the withdrawal, Musk publicly criticized Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill,” labeling it a “disgusting abomination” and warning that massive spending bills are bankrupting America. Musk also engaged on social media, emphasizing that the conflict is not “Right vs. Left” but “Establishment vs. The People.” In response, Trump posted on Truth Social accusing Musk of “going crazy” after Trump asked him to leave and revoked his EV mandate. Musk then made a shocking claim linking Trump to the Epstein files but later expressed regret for some of his remarks about the president.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt defended Gor, calling him a trusted adviser who helped staff “the most talented administration in history.”
